The 2023 GBIF Graduate Researchers Award winners will present their work to the GBIF Data Use Club community.
Dorothy Akoth, master’s student at Makarere University in Uganda, will present her research in improving the knowledge of the distribution and imperilment status of 110 native fish species outside the iconic Haplochromine tribe of East African cichlids.
Andre Vicente Liz, a PhD candidate at the Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (CIBIO-InBIO) at the University of Porto, will present his integrated analysis of the genetic and spatial distribution patterns of 107 vertebrate species that live in the Sahara-Sahel desert.
The event is open for all, and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas following the presentation.
